Youths Are The Reset Button To Society
Ask me if youths are the reset button to society, and i'd definitely say yes. Youths are the group of people who have the most freedom, believe it or not, and are also the group of people who have the chance to attempt new things that many adults cannot attempt at their age.
Times change as the world gets more and more modernized, and many things change in the process. Who are the people most affected by these changes? The youth.
As the syllabus in the education system changes regularly, children learn more at a young age. As they enter into the youth part of life, they are already equipped with many skills that adults nowadays learn only during adulthood. Many primary school kids nowadays already own handphones, PSPs, and other electronic gadgets. Learning how to operate and use such devices at such a young age enables the country to advance much faster than before.
Just like how the previous generation initially set traditions and cultures for us, the youths of today set the standard for society and the next generation.
If youths are properly taught not to follow the mistakes of the past, then similar mistakes would not be repeated again. Instead, the youths would improvise on that area and set a new standard. If every youth chooses not to follow the mistakes that people made in the past, then the standard in a country would increase. The next generation will also then, continue to be reset button in society by improving on the standards that the youths of today have set.
Lets think of a simple analogy: A parent may not be used to saying ' i love you' to his or her own parent. However deep down, which parent doesn't want a child to express his or her love for the parent? Imagine having a child in the future, and never hearing your child telling you that he or she loves you. I think its rather sad.. haha.
However, if the youth of today make it a habit to express their love to their parents through words, then the child of the youth in future would not feel awkward saying ' i love you' to the parent either. The parent herself/himself would not feel awkward telling the child how much he/she loves the child. This cycle can go on for generations and this will foster better relations between the parent and child.
Thus, youth are the reset button to society. They are able to stop practicing past cultures and start new cultures; standards.
